The cycle facilities manual of the Brussels Capital Region offers technical support to all actors involved in the promotion of cycling and especially in the improvement of cycle infrastructure in Brussels.

Safety, comfort, rapidity, attractivenes and consistency are the five major demands made by by cyclists on the quality of cycle facilities.

Cyclist safety and comfort are greatly determined by the quality of pavements, road markings and lighting.

At the request of Brussels Mobility, BRRC has authored two parts of the manual dealing with those topics.

Part 5 Revêtements des aménagements cyclables aims to give recommendations for the design, construction and maintenance of pavements with a view to creating high-quality cycle facilities.
Part 6 Marquage et éclairage des aménagements cyclables aims to give recommendations for the choice, application/installation and maintenance of road markings and lighting, with a view to creating high-quality cycle facilities.
