The scope of BRRC’s ISO 17025 accreditation by BELAC
Areas of Expertise (1)>>
Since the year 2000, BRRC has been recognized as an accredited laboratory by BELAC.
BELAC is a Belgian accreditation body supervised by the Belgian Federal Public Service (FPS) Economy, SME, Self-Employed and Energy, which acts as an impartial third party to assess whether a given laboratory operates in accordance with the reference document in force and delivers an accreditation certificate if the laboratory passes the audit procedure.
The reference document used in this accreditation system is NBN EN ISO/IEC 17025 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. This European standard is to laboratories what NBN EN ISO 9001 is to enterprises.
A BELAC accreditation offers our clients a guarantee that our test results meet the requirements set in the standard and that the operating procedures have been scrupulously observed. Within BRRC itself, the ensuing working methodologies and habits are helpful in continously improving our performance levels in all our testing activities.
Early in 2015, the validity of BRRC’s accreditation by BELAC was renewed for five years. At the same time, its scope was extended so as to match the available range of accredited tests more closely to the present needs of our clients.
The field of validity of our accreditation now includes part of the tests:
- on asphalt, bituminous binders and fillers;
- on concrete, cement mortars and concrete pipes;
- for condition surveys of sewer systems.
